


Operations Manager
We are thrilled to welcome Liam McLeavey as Operations Manager of NZHIT. Liam joins us from The Horowhenua Company in Levin, Horowhenua’s Economic Development Agency where he was Operations Manager. Liam joined The Horowhenua Company as its second employee on establishment, where he held a large work program including data and economic analysis, business development, workforce development, communications and events. Liam has worked with a variety of businesses, from start-ups and SMEs, to family-owned and multi-national companies. He thoroughly enjoys seeing businesses achieve their business goals and create a positive impact for their customers, staff, and wider communities. Liam has held a range of local, regional, and national roles in the area of education, workforce, and labour market development. Liam established and received Crown investment for Get—Go, the largest labour market development program ever seen in Horowhenua. Get—Go brings together employers, Government departments, education organisations, students, and job seekers in new and innovative ways so they can do and be more together. Liam was appointed in 2017 and advised the Minister of Education on his Ministerial Advisory Group until 2019. In 2020 Liam was appointed by the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to the Interim Regional Skills Leadership Group, finishing his term August 2021. Liam is a Member of the Institute of Directors of New Zealand (MInstD). Liam is extremely passionate about improving access to healthcare and solving health inequities through new and innovative ways, such as digital health technologies. As Chair of a Primary Health Organisation in the Manawatu, Liam has first-hand experience seeing how digital health products and services can improve outcomes for patients and create efficiencies for clinicians plus improve primary health care delivery overall. Liam lives in Wellington, is an avid supporter of the Wellington Phoenix, and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
