‘ShadowTech’ programme

You may have been involved or familiar with the previous ‘ShadowTech’ programme led by TechWomen. This initiative focussed on inspiring and talking to girls in years 9 - 11 about the tech industry and career pathways. We have recently expanded this programme and now introduce to you ‘ShadowTech Teachers’ in conjunction with Ministry of Education and Deloitte.

ShadowTech Teachers has flipped the ShadowTech model on its head and will now be talking to the influencers – namely the secondary school teachers and career advisors. This new model will give secondary school teachers and career advisors the chance to spend half a day onsite with an IT professional. They can then go back to their schools armed with real-life knowledge to educate and inform their students about tech careers and pathways.

The programme (which is due to launch in Feb 2021) has already had a lot of interest but we are still looking to match more teachers/career advisors with mentors (tech companies) in your region.

If you know anyone that would be interested in participating in either role please get it touch or register online; for teacher registration click here, and for mentor registration click here. Similarly, we would also really appreciate it if you could share this programme throughout your professional network and on social media if possible. To make things easier for you to promote via social media we have included some suggested text and an image you can use when posting (refer to the bottom of this email and attached).
