DXC Care Suite and DXC Lorenzo Patient

Central Hume Partnership in Victoria Selects DXC Care Suite and DXC Lorenzo Patient Administration System to Optimise Processes Across Seven Hospitals
VICTORIA, Australia, 5 February 2020 – DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, today announced the Central Hume Partnership (CHP) has selected DXC Care Suite with DXC Lorenzo™ patient administration system to optimise workflow and help improve outcomes in patient care across its seven rural hospitals.
DXC Care Suite, built on DXC Healthcare Cloud on Microsoft Azure, is a health platform and patient administration system that offers contemporary patient record management, automated scheduling and pathway management. The interoperability capabilities of DXC Open Health Connect helps care providers integrate data from different systems to create a longitudinal patient record via Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) interfaces. DXC Care Suite with Lorenzo patient administration system will be deployed across CHP hospitals, with the replacement of the ageing patient administration system an immediate priority.
Margaret Bennett, chief executive officer at Northeast Health Wangaratta, which is the lead agency for CHP, said: “The opportunity to implement a solution that establishes the critical foundations for digital heath in the CHP area is very exciting for us. It provides the CHP the ability to review existing workflows, how clinical services are currently delivered and to ensure we are on the right path to continuously deliver patient and person-centric systems.”
CHP elected to take advantage of DXC Care Suite’s modern architecture, which will result in significant speed-to-benefit. Jorge Silveira, who is executive director of information management and chief information officer for Northeast Health Wangaratta, as well as project director for the CHP, said: “As we reflected on DXC’s local and global success with health information system implementations, we saw a level of rigour in the delivery of modern digital healthcare solutions, which addresses critical issues like information security, disaster recovery and zero-downtime upgrades embedded in the platform. Most importantly, the growing list of outcomes and achievements in the National Health Service (NHS) exemplar projects such as at Royal Papworth Hospital, provided us with proof points and confidence, regarding health outcomes and speed to benefit.”
DXC Care Suite will enable a redesign of workflows through real-time automation, increasing efficiency for staff and patients across the CHP. This in turn will allow hospitals to achieve significant financial savings and reallocate staff to higher-value responsibilities. As an example, using Care Suite will result in an increase in the flow of patients through the hospitals, freeing up capacity and creating administrative efficiencies. Advanced enterprise scheduling is key to achieving this, by reducing errors and aligning clinically defined schedules to significantly improve throughput.
“This is an extremely exciting time for the healthcare industry in Australia and New Zealand as customers now have a clear way forward with an affordable and modern alternative for a digital health platform. This platform currently supports 24 million patients and sets a foundation for greater levels of agility, interoperability and patient centricity. We look forward to working with all the hospitals in the CHP to make this project a success for both the region and the individual stakeholders within each hospital,” said Daryll Goodall, DXC Healthcare director for Australia and New Zealand.
