NZHIT members are invited to attend the following important Wellington workshop in October 15 2019

NZHIT, with the support of NZTech, is leading a comprehensive study into the current state and future opportunity for healthtech to contribute to a productive, sustainable and inclusive New Zealand.  The study will be used to raise the profile of healthtech in New Zealand, and New Zealand healthtech on the international stage; to help direct investment, develop policy and to identify how health tech can fully enable the delivery of health, disability and social services.

 

This fits with NZHIT’s vision that all New Zealanders can benefit from world class health and wellbeing services that are fully enabled by digital technologies.  NZTech’s vision is a prosperous New Zealand underpinned by technology.  Hence, the partnership between these two significant industry bodies will deliver value to their respective memberships,government agencies, universities, researchers, leading healthcare organisations and, ultimately, all New Zealanders.

 

There are many opportunities for healthtech in New Zealand and globally.  There are also many barriers that are making it difficult for healthtech to truly enable the health, disability and social services that New Zealanders deserve. This study provides you with the ability to contribute to the shaping and influencing of healthtech’s future.

 

To commence the early stages of this study process, NZHIT is holding the following 2-hour workshops where members will be – 1) introduced to the purpose of the study, 2) the opportunities to become engaged in the study, 3) updated on important sector information and, 4) provide initial thinking towards the scope and shape of the study.

The following is an overview of the agenda for these workshops –

* NZHIT & NZTech – introduction to the study, its purpose, proposed outcomes and engagement opportunities.

* Ministry of Health – overview of the National Health Information Platform (nHIP) and key factors influencing the MOH’s work programme over the next 2-3 years.

* Roundtable – workshop attendees to discuss and share their thinking in relation to the study, opportunities and barriers in the sector and how they’d like the study to raise awareness, showcase the market and support policy development.
